Microsoft Launch Teams Voice

Microsoft have launched their new voice telephony service, Teams Voice. Built into the collaboration and communication app Microsoft Teams, this new service is seen as a cloud-based alternative for businesses from the more traditional on-premise infrastructures. It also links into any new or existing Office 365 licences and apps.

Businesses have flexibility to choose the type of infrastructure that suits their needs and requirements, with two options readily available to them;

• Direct Routing – this allows businesses to work with the voice line provider of their choice, and potentially combine with a Calling Plan. This option gives businesses greater control of any existing IVR services and can connect into any legacy on-site hardware such as a PBX.
• Calling Plan – this option provides full telephony services built within Teams, with calling plans being provided through Microsoft. This solution is seen as ideal for businesses who want the simplest telephony management systems available to them.
